Dr. Shuzo Kato of Japan’s NICT presented the Day Two keynote at the 2007 SDR Tech Forum, speaking on “Cognitive Radio for Best Spectrum Utilization through SDR- Various Definitions and Implications.” This video, capturing all of his slides, is probably the most data-dense introduction to cognitive radio on record.

Dr. Joseph Kielman from the Department of Homeland Security provides an overview of the Office for Interoperability and Compatibility (OIC), and current initiatives taking place within. As evidenced by its practitioner-driven approach, OIC supports the Software Defined Radio Forum’s efforts to involve emergency response practitioners by creation of a Public Safety Special Interest Group.
